Dr. Nina Wolfrum
Dr. Nina Wolfrum is Director Aerodynamics in Research & Development at MTU Aero Engines and an Honorary Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). She holds a Diploma and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Munich. During her studies, she completed a research stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she conducted work related to her master’s thesis.
Throughout her career at MTU Aero Engines, Dr. Nina Wolfrum has held various technical and leadership positions. Her expertise includes turbomachinery aerodynamics as well as high-performance computing methods for the simulation of aerodynamic, aeroacoustic, and aeroelastic phenomena. She has contributed to the development of advanced numerical methodologies and the design of highly efficient propulsion system components. In addition to her technical responsibilities, she served as Executive Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer, gaining valuable insight into corporate strategy, executive decision-making, and organizational leadership. Today, she leads the Aerodynamics organization within MTU’s R&D division, driving innovation in future propulsion technologies.
Alongside her industrial career, Dr. Nina Wolfrum is actively engaged in academia through her honorary professorship at the Technical University of Munich, where she teaches and supports the education of future aerospace engineers.
