Women in R&D 2027
A different perspective on the technology challenges of the future
European companies are navigating geopolitical uncertainty, increasing global competition, rapid technological change and growing pressure on costs and productivity. At the same time, expectations from employees, customers and society continue to evolve. Organizations need to make decisions that will shape their future success: strengthening competitiveness, unlocking the value of AI and creating environments where people can perform at their best.
At Women in R&D 2027 on February 25 we will explore how companies can successfully navigate this changing environment. Bringing together senior leaders and decision-makers from across industries, the event offers a platform to discuss strategic priorities, share practical experiences and exchange perspectives on the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Our Panels
Through three dedicated panel discussions, we will examine the future of European competitiveness, the role of AI in shaping technology organizations, and how companies can create high-performing and resilient organizations in an age of uncertainty. Our panels will feature insightful discussions on key topics that are shaping the future of R&D:
Strengthening European Competitiveness
Europe has long benefited from strong industrial capabilities, engineering excellence and a highly skilled workforce. Yet these strengths no longer automatically translate into growth and global market leadership. This panel will explore what Europe must preserve, where companies need to rethink established approaches and how they can balance today’s cost pressures with the investments required for long-term competitiveness. We are addressing the following questions:
- Which of Europe’s traditional strengths remain real advantages and where do we need to rethink our approach?
- Why do companies often struggle to translate strong capabilities into growth and market leadership?
- How can organizations balance cost pressure today with the investments needed for tomorrow?
- What would success look like for Europe in 2035?

Tech Organizations at an AI Turning Point
AI is moving rapidly from experimentation to a critical driver of business performance. But many organizations still struggle to scale successful use cases and translate technological potential into measurable impact. This panel will discuss what differentiates leading tech organizations, which barriers they need to overcome and what capabilities, talent and operating models are required to unlock AI’s full value. We are addressing the following questions:
- What will differentiate successful tech organizations in the age of AI?
- How can companies move beyond pilots and experiments to create measurable business impact with AI?
- What are the biggest barriers to scaling AI across organizations today?
- What capabilities, talent and operating models are needed to unlock the full value of AI?
Leadership, Performance & People
In an increasingly unpredictable environment, organizations need to adapt continuously while maintaining focus, energy and performance. This places new demands on leadership, collaboration and organizational resilience. The panel will explore how leaders can provide stability and direction, how much change organizations can absorb and which capabilities will define high-performing organizations in the years ahead. We are addressing the following questions:
- How can organizations sustain high performance in an increasingly unpredictable environment?
- How can leaders create stability and direction when the external environment remains uncertain?
- How much change can organizations absorb without losing focus and energy?
- What capabilities will define resilient and high-performing organizations in the years ahead?
